Milton Keynes Anxiety Counselling
People choose to come to counselling for a number of reasons. They may be experiencing feelings of anxiety without knowing or understanding why.
The following are some typical anxiety issues. Everyone is unique and so not everything that is written below will apply to you:
- Worrying thoughts or unpleasant memories intruding into your mind
- Intense dislike or fear of situations or objects and avoidance of them
- 'Panic attacks' coming out of the blue; worrying that one will strike you without warning
- Unpleasant bodily sensations (e.g. sweats, heart pounding. muscle tension)
When individuals are confronted with an apparent threat or danger, they have an automatic instinctive tendency to respond with "fight" or "flight". If you have a problem with social anxiety, perhaps you are attempting to flee from the threat of being judged, or appearing in a bad light, in a public place.
Whatever your reasons for coming to counselling, you will be heard, accepted and treated with respect.
